Given the dynamic nature of the programmatic buying ecosystem, we anticipate that there may be occasions when a campaign, PMP, etc. does not meet does not meet the Green Media Standards set out here, for example due to user error upon creation of a Green Media Product. The following policy guideline documents Scope3’s policy in event of contravention of Green Media Standards.

Ineligibility

In the event that GMP impressions are counted against inventory determined by Scope3 to be non-GMP eligible:

  1. Within 5 business days of receiving data from the GMP seller, Scope3 will contact the seller to flag that inventory is deemed to contravene Green Media Standards.
  2. The GMP seller has a 10 business day period from being contracted to remove that inventory from the GMP OR can request a review.
  3. Any ineligible inventory is surfaced with a corresponding flag in reporting & dashboards.
  4. In the event that inventory is not removed from the GMP, the seller is marked as contravening our Green Media Standards guidelines.

Review Process

A GMP seller can request a review of inventory flagged as GMP ineligible by raising a support ticket, within 10 business days. Scope3 will within 5 business days determine whether or not the inventory was correctly flagged as GMP ineligible. During this time period the inventory remains classified as ineligible and follows Scope3 policy accordingly. Any decision made by Scope3 following the determination process is final. From the point of decision, the seller has 10 business days to remove inventory from the GMP if deemed ineligible.

Repeated Contravention

Should a seller repeatedly contravene standards, Scope3 reserves the right to terminate the relationship with the seller.

A repeated contravention is defined as one of the following:

  • Persistent ignoring and no legitimate attempts to work with Scope3 to to remove ineligible inventory over a three month period.
  • More than 10% of GMP impression volume being classified as GMP ineligible, in aggregate, over a 60 day period.
  • More than 20% of GMP impression volume being classified as GMP ineligible, in aggregate, over a 30 day period.

Compensation

If a GMP has opted-in to compensation, and in the event that impressions are counted against inventory determined by Scope3 to be non-GMP eligible, the GMP seller will still be charged compensation.
