This policy protects Scope3’s obligation to maintain the validity and quality of the Scope3 Verified Partner program. This program denotes a partner as verified on completion of a Scope3 assessment, and recognises the sufficiency and depth of data provided by the verified partner when measuring their carbon emissions.

Significant Changes

A Scope3 Verified Partner must, within 30 days, notify Scope3 in the event of any material changes in information previously shared with Scope3 as part of the assessment process. This includes but is not limited to:

For media owners:

  • acquisition of new properties
  • publication of sustainability reports
  • significant changes to tech stack and business practices that affect modelling of emissions
  • errors or omissions in data provided to Scope3

For ad tech vendors:

  • acquisition of tech vendors
  • publication of sustainability reports
  • change to tech configurations e.g. traffic shaping
  • errors or omissions in data provided to Scope3

Contravention

If a customer does not notify Scope3 of significant changes within 30 days, and/or Scope3 has reason to believe that the Verified Partner has has omitted data whether wilfully or neglectfully, Scope3 has the right to request an audit. If audit is denied or material changes are discovered, Scope3 reserves the right to rescind the Scope3 Verified partner status.
