Scope3 collaborates with businesses throughout the media ecosystem to assess their impact on the planet and provide products to reduce carbon emissions.

We’ve dedicated the last two years to modeling the complex, interconnected digital media supply chain, including all emissions linked to ad distribution. We visualize this data for brands and publishers to help them understand the end-to-end carbon impact of ad delivery as it makes its way to the user’s screen.

Upcoming reporting mandates in California, the UK, and Europe will require brands to establish reliable methods to measure, monitor, and disclose the emissions generated throughout the advertising lifecycle. These reporting requirements include production, which presents distinct measurement challenges of its own.

Scope3 is tackling those challenges head-on by building technology that drives rapid media decarbonization, and we’re thrilled to announce the expansion of our capabilities to include production.

A notable contributor of carbon emissions, production has proven exceptionally challenging to quantify due to the numerous variables in the production process and the involvement of several stakeholders. According to one industry estimate, the average commercial production generates 6.1 tons of CO₂e, but it's worth noting the range for shoots is dramatic.

Incorporating creative production into Scope3’s collaborative sustainability platform will bring much-needed visibility into another vital aspect of the advertising lifecycle. This addition empowers brands with the information necessary to make more sustainable decisions for their advertising activity overall.

Gabi Kay Joins Scope3 as Product Lead for Creative & Production

Gabi Kay has joined Scope3 as Head of Product, Creative & Production — and we couldn’t be more excited. With her extensive knowledge and expertise from a career spent in the creative industry, Gabi will play a pivotal role in driving this expansion.

She will focus on developing sustainability products that meet the high demands of production. This includes tools for predictive modeling of emissions associated with production, identifying carbon reduction opportunities across shoots, and integrating sustainable production wrap reporting into final emissions data.

Drawing on her experience as a sales leader and executive producer at leading global production companies, and driven by her commitment to climate action, Gabi co-founded Green the Bid in 2020. This global non-profit tackles the environmental impact of commercial production and is a primary resource for brands, agencies, and the production community supporting their shift to sustainable and regenerative practices.

Joining Scope3, Gabi is leveraging the momentum and framework established by Green The Bid’s to introduce an extra dimension of carbon measurement to commercial content production. Scope3 will collaborate directly with Green The Bid, benefiting from their industry-wide production expertise and sustainability insight.
