Preview Version 1 of the Global Media Sustainability Framework Directly In the Collaborative Sustainability Platform

This week we launched a feature that we are excited to share with everyone, and especially our partners who are working to practice sustainability in media and advertising—you can now explore version 1 of the Global Media Sustainability Framework (GMSF) in the Collaborative Sustainability Platform (CSP).

We strongly believe in the value of an industry standard to accelerate the decarbonization of media and advertising, and in the spirit of learning together, this release allows everyone to interactively learn more about the components of the GMSF v1 through Scope3’s platform. Because more work remains to finalize the GMSF, including additional formulae and a means to verify compliance, the framework is only available to be previewed in the CSP today while the Scope3 framework continues to be the basis for all of Scope3’s products.

Exploring the GMSF

To become more familiar with the GMSF through the CSP, you can try exploring properties in different channels, reading the emissions components descriptions in the Knowledge Base, and comparing properties side-by-side. Start by logging into the CSP, then choosing the 'Global Media Sustainability Framework v1' in the new framework selector at the top of any property report.

The property report will then show emissions broken down by GMSF components. You can click on the Learn More button to understand the component as defined by GMSF. Categories marked “Coming Soon” are awaiting formulae from the finalized GMSF.

With work continuing this year to finalize the GMSF, we are excited to continue playing an active role in the GMSF working groups to support alignment on an industry standard.
